Description:

In this unit, students will design a sculpture that expresses an idea to make the world a better place. Students will brainstorm by studying other middle school students’ inventions and discussing their own ideas. They will discuss expression. Students will create armatures using plaster casting. Then, they will add a base and found items to form their sculpture. They will enhance their work by adding a simple electrical circuit. They will paint their sculpture using color theory. Finally, they will add any items that they wish to better express theme. They will reflect on their success by writing on their rubrics.
