#### Description:

In this activity, students are shown a shape constructed of squares on a coordinate plane and must calculate its area and perimeter. This activity allows students to practice computing areas and perimeters using different methods as well as compare the two measurements for different figures. This activity includes supplemental materials, including background information about the topics covered, a description of how to use the application, and exploration questions for use with the java applet.
