I have this on an overhead. I have the students write down their answers on a piece of scratch paper. By a show of hands, we see what people think. If the class is split on a question or the majority answer is wrong, I call on students to justify their answers.

I tried this one last semester, and my students really enjoyed it. I actually did it towards the end of the semester as review. It was easy to use and effective.

Some students really struggle with the concept of slope because it gets all tangled up with calculating a number. This activity helps the student understand what that number means in terms of the graph of the line.
