As social connections grow throughout the world the usage of social media in the classroom is integral for young students' future success. Introduction to certain types of social networks, data sharing programs and other collaborative applications should strengthen participation and success for all disciplines taught. This is a collection of free networks and applications that have been used successfully in K-12 programs and adult professional development seminars at the New York Hall of Science and also within numerous classrooms in and around the metro area.
