In this 6 week unit of study middle school students will explore the dynamic relationship with our Earth and Space. They will explore multiple planets, read thought provoking text, and interact with each other with technology based lesson plans. Using systems thinking the students will investigate the major components of space that affect the earth and understand it’s unified function as a system.

Reviewer Comments:

This resource is a 6-week unit in which middle school students (grades 6 - 8) will study various planets and create multimedia presentations to demonstrate what they have learned. Currently, the bulk of the lessons are located in the “Week 2: Inner and Outer Planets” folder, while the other 5 folders (Resources, Intro, Weeks 4, 5 & 6) are empty. The lessons include objectives, guiding questions, and lists of web resources. A graphic organizer is included for each, and although it says “answer key included in attachment,” there does not appear to be such a key. This resource is incomplete, but is also the start of potentially robust and engaging unit on the planets. The Curriki Review System (CRS) looks forward to reviewing this resource again, once the original contributor and / or the Curriki community has a chance to build it up.
