In this probability and statistics lesson plan, students use the four components of statistical problem solving outlined in the GAISE report, to determine the number of times a specific outcome will be spun on a spinner with equal sections. In the lesson plan the class conducts an experiment to help determine how many of each colored (red, blue, green) toy car parents must buy if they are expecting about 200 students to play the spinner game at the carnival. The lesson plan includes a data collection sheet, assessment and a template for the spinner in PDF format.
