Description:

In this data collection and probability lesson plan, students play a modified form of the Apache game "Throw Sticks". Throughout the game students collect data, investigate the likelihood of various moves, and use basic ideas of expected value to determine the average number of turns needed to win a game. This resource includes an instructional plan, assessment and extension ideas, and suggested questions to ask students.
