Reviewer Comments:

This lesson plan invites the students to rewrite Othello into modern language. The class breaks into small homogenous groups to interpret each act of the play and transcribe it, so to speak into modern English, including slang. Then the students perform the new version for each other. This transformative process will deepen understanding of the themes of the play for all the students, make it relevant and timeless, and help them make connections to themselves and the world.
