This simple game for two players develops fact fluency. A counter is placed on the center space of a track that is 17 spaces long. Each player begins the game with 6 cards numbered 1 through 6. At each turn both players reveal a card simultaneously. The player with the higher card moves the counter in the opponent's direction on the track a number of spaces equal to the product of the smaller card value and the difference between the card values. The goal is to move the counter off the opponent's end of the track, or to end up in the opponent's half after six turns. To vary the game a zero card may added to the initial allocation.
