This Council for Geoscience (CGS) website illustrates its work to map, survey, investigate, and assess the geologic components of South Africa. Through this expansive website, visitors can learn about CGS's publications, scientific units, Library and Information Center, and much more. The website promotes the Kaapvaal Magnetotelluric Project, which is the largest MT experiment in the world. Along with information about how to obtain copies of the many detailed and color coded mineral maps created by SAMINDABA (the South African Mineral Deposits Database), visitors will also find detailed descriptions of the mining productions, the geologic materials, and economic potentials for each Province.
