This resource is not only the complete etext of The Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass by Frederick Douglass, it is also includes a preface to this narrative by a William Lloyd Garrison (who became acquainted with Douglass at an anti-slavery convention in 1841) and a letter from a Wendell Phillips to Douglass in 1845. Both these documents provide abolitionist context in Massachusetts at that time. . It is made available electronically through Project Gutenberg and is open source content for all to use. It is easily accessible and readable. The content is accurate and the text is technically complete. “This eBook is for the use of anyone anywhere at no cost and with almost no restrictions whatsoever.”
