Description:

This slide set begins by discussing the amount of dark matter on galactic and larger scales by refering to the dark matter in the Milky Way. The next set of slides reviews the motivation for and the basic physics of several dark matter candidates: Machos, Wimps, axions, and neutrinos. Then it disscusses two candidates in particular, the neutralino from supersymmetry and the baryonic Macho candidate. For Machos there is a description of the discovery of Machos using gravitational lensing and the interpretation of the results with respect to the dark matter problem.
