Lesson: The Renaissance and Leonardo da Vinci

Step 1: Choose one invention, piece of artwork, or study by Leonardo da Vinci that interests you. Do some research on this invention/painting. Be sure you can answer the following: What was it? Why was it created? Why was it useful/interesting/innovative? (For an invention) Did anyone ever use it? If it was used, for what and by whom? (For a painting) Where is the painting now? What impact did it have on society/culture?

Step 3: Give a short presentation to the class about your work. Be sure to tell us the following:

(3) Share your scale model or replica with the class as part of your presentation. [The book Amazing Leonardo da Vinci Inventions You Can Build Yourself by Maxine Anderson (Nomad Press, 2006) is a great resource for this.]
