Reviewer Comments:

While the standards are not explicitly addressed in this resource, the resource itself is strong and usable. Using the text, The Circuit, this resource includes a variety of research based activities. Literature circles are employed and specific guiding discussion questions are included. Discussions, connections, charts and mapping activities relate well to the book and are designed to help readers make connections and deeply delve into issues of poverty, the Mexican-American experience of following the crops, family, dignity, school, dreams, irony and culture. Employing the GETS model (geography, economic structure, technological developments, social systems), a multitude of issues are considered and integrated into the teaching of this novel. The interactive technology comment link is referred to and students will be engaging with one another in specific regulated ways, but the link is not yet hot.
