There are many issues surrounding the use of energy today. This section of a series about the future of energy introduces students to four different issues: consumption, efficiency, infrastructure, and environment. Descriptions of the issues investigate such topics as environmental considerations, clean air, dependence on foreign fuels, environmental impacts, an aging energy grid, and appliance efficiency, among others. In the descriptions, students can access glossary definitions of highlighted terms and feature articles related to energy issues. Some of the descriptions include PBS NewsHour links to energy-related stories, as well as other links to additional information. Copyright 2005 Eisenhower National Clearinghouse
