Reviewer Comments:

Science resources are full of so-called “cookbook labs,” in which all students have to do is follow the directions leading to a prescribed outcome, adding little of their own input or inquiry. In this resource, the author gives clear steps to adapting such cookbook activities and extending them into inquiry-based investigations. With the appropriate scaffolding, these modifications could be used at any grade level. The instructions themselves seem to be written a number of times, each time listing steps in increasing complexity. The idea of brainstorming, then sorting the brainstormed variables using weighted criteria seems particularly thoughtful. As mentioned in the information tab, this resource is best combined with another Curriki resource, Inquiry With Anything: http://www.curriki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Coll_VA/InquirywithAnything
