Reviewer Comments:

This unit is contains a series of hands-on and minds-on activities for learning about the effects of water and weather on the earth. Topics include the formation of rain and clouds, the basics behind convection currents, erosion, currents, el Nino, and the relationship between surface and energy absorption. Each lesson includes an introduction, suggested timeline, learning objectives, guiding question(s), materials list, clear procedures, and suggestions for concluding activities. The unit exams include a series of short-answer prompts, but no answer key. This unit includes links to various multimedia resources, including Daisy World, a simplified computer model that helps students understand the cause and affect of albedo and absorption on temperature changes. This unit is intended for middle school or early high school students, but could be adapted for use at a variety of grade levels. These activities are well organized and immediately useful in the classroom using simple, readily accessible materials.
