Reviewer Comments:

This resource offers four days of literacy instruction: three days of lessons guiding students in writing (a persuasive document and a narrative piece based on personal experiences); and one day of guiding students in choosing just right books. Students look at brochures and use them as models for their own writing. Objectives for teaching students how to write an informational brochure are clear. Students engage in brainstorming, group work, and think/pair/share. Standards regarding inquiry, research and mechanics are cited. While assigned homework is specific to a text, the lessons can be used in any classroom.
