Description:

The USGenWeb Project "consists of a group of volunteers working together to provide Internet websites for genealogical research in every county and every state of the United States." The United States Digital Map Library, which is maintained by the USGenWeb Project, offers a host of historical maps categorized by state and topic. Wisconsin, for example, includes more than a dozen freely viewable maps that include an 1800's Wisconsin, Iowa and Minnesota Territories map, a 1943 Railroads map, city and county maps, and more. Although, a few of the maps are not of particularly good quality, overall the site provides an interesting and unique set of resources worth investigating.
