Reviewer Comments:

This is an excellent lesson plan for teaching upper-elementary school students about solving word problems involving addition. The directions for most of the lesson are very clear and include a lesson plan, a presentation, practice problems, and an answer key. All of the information is given in Microsoft Word or in PDF form. The presentation is also in Notebook form so that it can be used with a Smartboard. There is a hands-on activity listed in the lesson plan, but the specific directions for it are not provided. The practice problems are tiered and give the students the opportunity to self-assess their skills. Classroom teachers can use this well-written lesson as it is or modify it to fit their own classrooms.
