Use: Integrating OER Into Your Classroom is the fifth of six units developed for the professional development course, Integrating Open Educational Resources in the Classroom. This unit explores the critical role of using technology in the transformation of education. It is designed as an introduction by following the creation and modification of an OER, with a special emphasis on the using and sharing of OERs for classroom use. Using information contained in the Open Educational Resources handbook, the components contained within this lesson will help you - and possibly your students - consider aspects of instructional design in order to create OERs for sharing with others. It's primary sections include: Motivation - why use and share OERs?; Content - task definition, information seeking and review, instructional design of OERs; Reflection - using and sharing OERs; Assessment - using and sharing an OER; and Self-Check - a case of using an OER to make OERs.
