Reviewer Comments:

This is a creative and well-organized unit on the African Influence in Mexico. The resource includes standards and objectives, understandings, essential questions, detailed lesson plans, rubrics, and much more. Technology is used to support learning in many of the activities such as student brainstorming through wallwisher.com and the final project in which students create a wiki page on what they have learned. A family tree activity gives the students the opportunity to make meaningful connections to their own lives during the unit. It should be noted that the instructor must have a significant amount of background knowledge to provide to the students and it would be necessary to create student handouts for many of the lessons.
