Description:

This discussion of the world wide phenomenon of glacial depletion provides several examples along with photographs that illustrate the disappearance of the glaciers. There is information about why we should be concerned, including the loss of natural reservoirs, alpine ecosystems, and archives of past climate along with the amplification of global climate change. The conclusion is that it is now too late to preserve many mountain glaciers.
