Virtual DNA Fingerprinting Laboratory is an interactive exercise that involves students in solving a forensic mystery. Over the course of seven episodes, they collect evidence, extract DNA, perform a southern blot, use polymerase chain reaction (PCR), and finally solve the crime. Information about the subject of DNA fingerprinting builds as students progress through the episodes. Website materials include a demonstration version of the exercise, download page for the software, and information on how to request a copy on CD-ROM.
