Graphic Organizer/Worksheet

Students are put into groups and each group is given one card from the sheet attached. Each card contains a different clue to the number pattern the students are investigating. Groups are allowed to read their cards out loud, but they may not show their cards to any other group. By talking to all of the other groups, each student will be able to determine the seventh number in the pattern.

Reviewer Comments:

Content here is middle school number series/patterns and finding next term in a series given verbal clues. The CRT notes there are no answer key or possible student responses provided. It does appear that this activity is a good starting point for patterns and could easily be enhanced for learners of all types. The activity set up is not as detailed as the CRT would like: create 6 groups, each group gets the same clue/card, all cards refer to the same number pattern.
