This resource is a Prezi presentation about women’s voices. There are 5 sections of information and students are directed to either divide the sections in their group or read individually and discuss. The information includes: a graph entitled Silenced: Gender Gap in the 2012 Election Coverage, a graph representing the number of women in the House and Senate since 1945, links to information about who writes opinion/editorials in newspapers, etc. Pauses are embedded in the Prezi with opportunities to discuss quotes and graphics, analyze social implications of women’s access to power in society, look at gender bias in children’s books and book covers, talk shows and issues of women online. Many links for more information are included and questions about women’s voices permeate the presentation. Used to build background knowledge, stimulate discussion, or embedded into curriculum, this resource is thorough, rich with information and easily accessible.
