This map-driven database provides information on thousands of species of birds, mammals, reptiles, and amphibians. The data are searchable by place with an interactive map and search box that allows users to input an ecoregion number, city or country, or ZIP code. There is also a tool that allows searches by species common or scientific name. Search results include a list of all species found in the selected area, with scientific names, common names, taxonomic classes, threat status, and links to images. Other resources include a frequently-asked-questions feature and a gallery of downloadable, printable maps of species richness, endemism, or threatened species of birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians, or all taxa combined.
