Reviewer Comments:

This resource is the action research parent project about the technological revolution and how our students are affected by it. The first two “children” resources are versions of a PowerPoint, Your Brain is in Your Hand explains how digital natives, i.e. our students, who have grown up with technology are not naturals at using tactile strategies to solve math problems. That is, they do not draw and sketch and it is necessary to improve their hand-brain connection in order to improve their math. The third “child” document is a review of the literature regarding the role technology has played in the shift of neurological function in today’s youth. The premise that a teacher now must train Digital Natives in tactile/kinesthetic intervention tactics to empower them to solve math problems effectively is examined. The fourth “child” report, Your Brain is Your Hand-Action is the final summary – concluding that the neurological transformation of Digital Natives impacts many facets of their cognition as observed in the deterioration of both social and academic skills.
