TRAILS is a knowledge assessment with multiple-choice questions targeting a variety of information literacy skills appropriate for high school students. This Web-based system was developed to provide an easily accessible and flexible tool for library media specialists and teachers to identify strengths and weaknesses in the information-seeking skills of their students.

This resource links to TRAILS – a multiple choice knowledge assessment of the information seeking skills of students, based on 3rd, 6th, 9th and 12th grade standards. This is a Kent State Library project designed to assess student strengths and weaknesses. First, one creates a free account, and then assesses and manages sessions for students. Sample assessments for grades 6 and 9 are provided. Sample assessments show authentic information skills are being tested.
