What Is Task Triage?

Effective AI use starts with task triage — deliberately sorting your work into what requires human judgment and what can be handled, drafted, or structured by AI. Not every task benefits equally from AI involvement, and knowing the difference is the whole skill.

Deeply human work is context-dependent, relational, and shaped by your knowledge of individual students, families, and school culture.
AI-suitable work is more administrative, structural, or repeatable — tasks where accuracy and format matter more than personal judgment.
The distinction isn’t about difficulty — some human-led tasks are simple, and some AI-suitable tasks are complex. It’s about where human context is irreplaceable.
Triage isn’t a one-time decision. As you build familiarity with AI tools, your sense of where the line sits will sharpen with practice.
